now you remind me
long falling dream
that the universe
is who we are
and i must say
part of me never
did leave the ocean
never did leave the womb
my existence entirely whole
and shattered
shreds and scraps of me
becoming this and that
a blue heron
becoming you
i saw you open your mouth
to breathe out a poem
and the wind stole it
away
some blue black raven
heard it on a cottonwood perch
and remembered all the words
in an instant
a familiar story
of the wildness inside you
