how strong our eyes
and how bright the fire
that we can see
such distant stars
and what a skilled traveler light must be
how far can we really see?
do i cast my vision out
to see the stars?
or does their light reach me?
and if it is their photons reaching my eyes
then i only see
what touches my eyes
and thus, i see only as far
as the surface of my eyes
and so what i see
is only me
everything is a reflection
the eyes of the ocean
are blue
